Because 2009 is such an important year for the PMC (the 30th anniversary!), we here at the blog and at the publicity team wanted to pause and remember the history of the PMC.
That turned into the creation of 30 Years in 30 weeks – a blog series highlighting each year of the PMC from its humble beginnings to becoming the largest supporter and fundraiser for The Jimmy Fund.
We’ve been busy gathering old records, yearbooks and picking riders’ memories for their own stories. Through a variety of sources, we’ve pulled together a story on each year and some fun facts you may or may not remember.
But the series is still a work in progress. We need your stories and photos! Tell us about your first ride or your 20th ride. Tell us your favorite story from any year. We’ll keep collecting information all winter and spring. Email me at Stephanie@teakmedia.com.
Come back on Monday to see the first installment – a look at the inaugural PMC in 1980. Read a new story every Monday right up until PMC 2009 Weekend on Aug. 1 and 2.
