Want to meet the faces behind why we ride and support the Pan-Massachusetts Challenge?
Get a pedal partner.
Here’s the adorable Nayree with PMCer Mellie Hutchinson.
And here’s the beautiful Paisley with Team Access.
Nayree and Paisley and all of the children being treated for cancer at the Jimmy Fund Clinic are the inspiration behind the PMC mission.

Want to be involved in the pedal partner program? Here are the details from my colleague Andrea who helps promote the program:
The pedal partner program offers an inspiring opportunity for PMC cyclists to connect with young children who are being treated for cancer at the Jimmy Fund Clinic. After all, they are among those who benefit from the funds raised by the PMC.
For the children, being a designated PMC Pedal Partner is an exciting experience that distracts them from their rigorous treatments while introducing them to new friends who will be among their biggest cheerleaders. The Pedal Partners become a part of a large group of people committed to fighting the disease for which they are being treated. PMC cyclists offer companionship and support to the children and their families, which more often than not, results in long-lasting friendships.
Every year, Pedal Partners, their families, and the cyclists meet for the first time at the Pedal Partner Party. They get to talk, share jokes, play games, make crafts, and eat brunch. This year’s party is slated for Saturday, May 2 at Fenway Park.
During PMC weekend, photographs of the Pedal Partners line the bike routes, motivating riders to keep cycling. On Saturday, Aug. 1, many Pedal Partners will meet their cycling teams at the Lakeville water stop along the PMC route. The break gives Pedal Partners the opportunity to hear stories from the road, and connect with their teams, reminding the cyclists to keep riding.
This year, Amgen is sponsoring the PMC Pedal Partner Program. For more information on the Pedal Partner Program, or to have your team join the program, email Kathy Acuna, firstname.lastname@example.org.
