Bobby Valentine receives his first PMC Jersey

Red Sox manager Bobby Valentine will ride in his first PMC on Aug. 4.

Today, PMC Founder and Executive Director Billy Starr and New Balance CEO and 6-year PMC rider Rob DeMartini presented Valentine with his PMC jersey and welcomed him to the team.

New Balance and the Boston Red Sox are co-presenting sponsors of the 33rd annual Pan-Mass Challenge.

    This will be my 1st year too. I’m riding to honor my father who was a cancer victim last July. And since I lost over 100 lbs in the last year, I thought what better way could I honor him.

    Good luck to all who ride for their own reasons. “It’s a far better thing that we do for others, than what we do for ourselves”

    Go Bobby! You lead by example. Sadly, we now have 2 family members with cancer. We all especially love you for your positive attitude. It is contagious. Thank you for all that you do. We’re routing for you!
